Separate saving from syncing

Saving keeps a change on your device; syncing copies it to another location. Confirm that both actions happened before closing a long session. When possible, keep one local copy and one verified remote copy rather than assuming an upload completed.

Use intentional versions

Create a new version before restructuring chapters, replacing data or accepting many tracked changes. Add a short note describing the reason. A useful history is not hundreds of unnamed copies; it is a small sequence of meaningful recovery points.

Plan for low-bandwidth moments

Download the latest file before travelling, avoid very large image uploads when the connection is weak, and wait for a visible confirmation before switching apps. A short weekly backup routine is more dependable than emergency recovery after a deadline.
